We have been asked to clarify the WhyCantWeGetMarried.com purpose.
The main purpose of our project is to challenge any individual, government or society from preventing two adults from loving each other - if they are causing no harm to anyone and are happy together. Our project particularly focuses on ending discrimination experienced by inter-racial couples, inter-religious couples and couples who identify as part of the LGBIT (Lesbian Gay Bisexual Intersex Transgender) community. Our project is about promoting love, peace and equality for loving couples worldwide.
WCWGMC’s Vision Statement
The Sierra Leone’s chapter of WhyCantWeGetMarried.Com (WCWGMC) thrives to make the recognition of the rights of young lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, queer and intersex youth (LGBTQI a reality in Sierra Leone.
MISSION Statement
WhyCantWeGetMarried.com aims to serve as a primary catalyst for the empowerment of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender, queer and intersex youth (LGBTQI). Our mission is to work together to reduce discrimination, stereotype, homophobia, trans-phobia and patriarchal norms for the attainment of equal rights for all.

Objectives
- To campaign against violence, hate crimes and exploitation in the lives of LGBTQI people in Sierra Leone;
- To promote understanding and respect of the human rights of LGBTQI people;
- To help promote LGBTQI human rights and gender equality;
- To undertake sexual health education to minimize sexually transmitted infections in the LGBTQI community including LGBTQI sex workers and injected drug users;
- To advocate and lobby the government to include LGBTQI issues in the national development agenda;
- To work to end homophobia and trans-phobia;
- To advocate for same-sex marriage;
- To advocate for the fundamental human rights of LGBTQI sex workers;
